Quality of Life Consultations

Quality of Life Consultations | The Rainbow Bridge Vet

It can be a very difficult time for us and our fur-kids when their quality of life begins to decline.

This could be due to a cancer diagnosis, kidney or liver disease, arthritis or mobility issues, heart failure, cognitive decline, or a mix of things.

Its not always straightforward to know ‘when is the right time’ to elect for euthanasia – our pets are part of the family, and we have a strong relationship with our fur-kids. Our heads may understand that there is discomfort, but our hearts are trying to catch up with uncomfortable feelings of losing our best friend. How are we able to make a date and time to say goodbye?

If you are finding this all quite overwhelming, a home visit may be helpful. As well as meeting and examining your fur-kid, I am happy to review their problems and help guide you through a quality of life assessment.

I aim to ensure you fully understand any diseases that may be affecting them, and how this may change with time, and help you navigate when euthanasia may become a kindness for your loved one.
