About
Meet Liz
I am an experienced veterinarian who has worked in a variety of busy vet clinics and hospitals around Australia, the UK and NZ.
Some people have recognised me from working at the Animal Medical Centre in Launceston (a wee while ago now!)
Most recently I have been working at Just Cats Tasmania and the Dogs Home Launceston.
I graduated from Murdoch University, Perth, in 1995. After a few years of mixed practice, I concentrated my skills in companion animal medicine and surgery, predominantly with dogs and cats.
This experience gives me a great awareness of the medical and age-related diseases that can affect our pets.
End of life care and pet euthanasia has always been a part of my work, but it wasn’t until I had to face the loss of my own heart dog ‘Stoli’ that I truly felt and understood the emotional trauma of losing your best friend.
As much as I have tried my best within the walls of a veterinary clinic to offer families a peaceful goodbye for their pets, I now fully appreciate how important it is to have the option of giving our pets the honour of a calm and peaceful death in their own home, surrounded by the family they love.
